| This body of work encompasses a wide range of subject matter, including endangered species. Marston Vale Charity and the World Wildlife Fund are supported. Of course over time subject matter and meaning change for each piece's conception, but the majority of the self generated pieces are inspired by the idea of capturing the moment, and are all extensions of my thoughts, experiences or feelings. Sometimes I take a more metaphorical approach, perhaps using animals to represent an emotional response; confrontation, fear, hope and desire. Animals make fantastic subject matter and I love the instinctual way in which they behave. I always approach my paintings from a spiritual place, and I often find painting to be a form of meditation. There's also commissioned pieces here. These pieces include wedding invitation designs, owner’s motorcycles & jackets, nudes, scenery; the subject matter and mediums used range. Some clients have a clear vision of their requirements, others require a more suggestive approach, initiated with drawings and photographs to support an understanding of what the finished piece may look like. Whether its work that is inspired by my own thoughts or others, I like to think my style is pretty consistent. |
