'Artists focus on wildlife'
A new gallery of work by artist Lindsay Chessum, based on endangered species and the environment, is currently on show at Marston Vale Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine. Alongside each piece is supporting text to help educate viewers on the current status of each species. Lindsay hopes to raise awareness and consciousness about the endangered species, and is donating ten percent of her commission to the World Wildlife Fund, and 20 per cent to the Marston Vale Forest Centre itself. The exhibition runs until November 12, with free admission.

A place... The Forest covers sixty square miles of Bedfordshire. There are a growing number of beautiful woodlands, wetlands and open spaces for everyone to enjoy.
A living, breathing project... The Forest is young and growing! Join us as a Friend of the Forest, adopt a tree, make a donation or enjoy a drink at the lake-side bar and café - every penny is ploughed back into creating the Forest.
A plan... We're a charity, passionate about repairing the damage of a hundred years of industrialisation. The exhibition commences 1st October & running to 12th November. The venue was specifically picked to tie in with the nature of this new collection. The pieces will be specifically featuring endangered species of the UK and rest of the world. Lindsay hopes to raise awareness and consciousness for this subject matter, by donating 10% of commissions to the WWF. 20% will go the Marston Vale Forest Centre itself. Please support this worthy cause by popping along.

Gallery Exhibition Private View 18 Sep 7.00 - 9.00pm - All welcome
Exhibition runs 18 Sep – 29 Oct 2004, 10-4.30pm week days only. At Bowen West Theatre, Landsdowne Road, Bedford (01234 219333). Admission free.
The exhibition at Bowen West Theatre follows almost a year after the successful solo show at Bromham Mill, Bedford, This exhibition now showcases both new paintings completed in the last year, as well as key pieces from my painting career. The new collection of work follows on with inspiration based around the concept of spirit. Spirit being a moment, thought or emotion represented through a visual expression. Self-portraits represent personal experience, sometimes in a metaphorical way. Animals and natural or organic subject matter can express a mood or experience or even a human emotion, sometimes in a metaphorical sense. In whatever interpretation, the work is ‘real’ in that its entirely based on experience and spiritual awareness.
